Many animals stare at us and we don’t have any idea why they do this.
This often leaves us confused and wondering why our pup is looking at us so intently. Here are some reasons why dogs stare:
“I’m ready for dinner”
Whenever your furry friend stares at you intently, take a moment to check the time. Perhaps it’s time for feeding. Dogs have a powerful internal clock, they often realise mealtime is approaching even before we do.
“You look stressed”
Dogs have the ability to read our facial expressions and body language. Your furry friend is trying to decode your mood. They can detect if you are sad or happy or likely to play.
Sleep Time
Dogs love routine and when something differs they get confused. At night, your pup will stare at you and be curious why you are staying up later than usual. They may be wondering why you aren’t doing the usual nightly routine like watching TV or brushing teeth or in this case, going to bed.
“I don’t feel so good”
Your dog relies on you for comfort and security so whenever they are not feeling well they come to you and stare knowing you are the only one that can make them feel better.
I’d like to go for a walk.
Has it been a while since your dog’s last walk or toilet break? Or did your dog just finish a long nap or a long play session? Both sleep and play can trigger the urge to get outside for a bathroom break.
Listen to them. They may seem to just like to goof around but they have all their attention on you – that is why they’re called man’s bestfriend. No other animal can understand you the way they do.
