What is Onsen?
Onsen is the Japanese term for a hot spring. It contains a specific amount of natural chemical components and has to have a temperature above 25 degrees to be defined as an “Onsen”. In Japan it is usually a place with a hotel and baths with the natural spring water surrounded by nature. The baths are used for relaxing and a healing the body, inside and out.
Effects of Onsen
Onsen water contains a lot of minerals, sulfur, calcium and iron oxide, but the composition of the water varies for every Onsen. The combination of the heat and those substances relax your body and loosen the muscles. Furthermore it improves the blood circulation which supports a proper function of all organs.
Onsen For Your Dog
In the last years the trend came up to build Onsen baths for dogs as well. Why shouldn’t our fur-children have a relaxing time, too? In Japan they have a lot of opportunities to take your dog to a hotel where they have both, Onsen for you and your pooch. But you don’t have to got to Japan to spoil your dog. Some local grooming shops offer Onsen baths as well, like Pet Patisserie in Sydney’s Rushcutters Bay. There your puppy can enjoy a nice bath. In addition to that bath, Pet Patisserie offers to shower your dog with a CO2 shower tab which adds even more benefits. The shower tab helps to get rid of mineral dirt and grease in the fur and on the skin that clog the pores, this prevents unpleasant odours. Additional benefits include increased blood circulation, removal of dead skin and and perhaps best of all it can help in relieving skin irritations.Your dog will feel great after that treatment and the fur will be very shiny and smooth.
