With the holidays fast approaching, we know all of you will be very busy. However, there are a few things to remember to keep your precious pup happy and healthy during this busy time of the year. Here are a few tips for your holiday dog safety.
- Stay relaxed. Your dog can pick up on your stress. Spend some quiet time with your dog to help you both de-stress.
- Try and keep your routine as normal as possible. Dogs are used to having a normal routine, so don’t stress them out just because its the holidays.
- Visitors and guests will no doubt be coming over for the holidays, and if your dog isn’t used to having this amount of people over all the time, it can be very stressful for them. Find your dog a quiet and cosy part of the house for them to relax, and make sure your guests don’t feed the dog table scraps (he should only be eating dog food) and that the dog doesn’t bolt out the door every time a new guest enters the house. FindADogMinder Pet Sitters are trained to ensure these pointers are always kept.
- Wear your pup out. If you’re worried about your dog getting too excited before your holiday party, make sure you take them for a big walk, run or play some dog games right before the party, then they’ll be too tired to get into too much trouble at your party.
The team here at FindADogMinder wishes all the pups and their owners a very happy holiday season!
