The warmer weather is almost upon us so you’re running out of excuses to enjoy the weather outside with your dog. Here are some handy prep tips to make sure everyone has a good time!
Time – Dedicate a set time in your diary once a week where you don’t have to worry about household chores or what to cook for dinner. Allocate this soley for outdoor time with the kids and the dog and make it a ‘non-negotiable’ so it can’t be put off.
Place – Wide, open spaces are a dog’s paradise. This could mean your city park or a local dog park if you have one nearby. Make sure it has access to drinking water too.
Toys – A simple Frisbee would do and something you could use for a tug of war. Make sure this doesn’t break easily.
Food – Don’t feed your dog too much before the excursion. Chances are they will barf it up after a lot of running around. Leave feeding time for afterwards.
Tools – This includes a tough leash, harness if needed and poop bags as well as the tools you use to pick it up like gloves or a little shovel.
There are plenty of games to play with your dog, and we’ll tell you our favourites in the next e-news!
