We always knew that dogs are special animals; they are faithful companions and give us unconditional love and so much joy. Some of them even have important jobs working in the police force or as an assistant dog for people with disabilities. Now they even work on the tennis court.
At the Brazil Open in Sao Paulo last February, special “ball boys” were brought into action. To raise awareness for shelter dogs, four of the former street dogs were trained over months to replace the “ball boys” on that tennis event. They learned to go and get the tennis ball as soon as it went out of bounds. The dogs received even more attention than the players and they even received applause from the audience, even though some of the dogs wanted to keep the balls for themselves.
The volunteers from a shelter in Sao Paulo came up with the idea to raise more awareness for these out of luck pooches, as in their shelter alone live 1000 dogs coming from the streets. They wanted to show that every dog deserves a chance and every dog can be trained and be happy.
