Your first childhood dog’s name and breed
My first childhood dog’s name was Mac. He was a Scottish Aberdeen Terrier.
What 1 life lesson could humans learn from dogs?
I think the No.1 life lesson humans can learn from dogs is unconditional love.
“It’s a dog’s life” because…
if you’re lucky enough to belong to a loving family you get loads of love, yummy food, lots of walks and can sleep whenever you want to!
Best thing about minding?
What I love about minding dogs is the companionship, the happy greeting I get in the morning and the great welcome when I get home.
Favourite breed & why?
I don’t really have a favourite breed, I love them all.
What did a dog last do to make you smile?
Penny, the little Jack Russell I am presently minding made me smile this morning when I was having breakfast. Incidentally she had already had hers. She lay on her tummy with her front legs spread out, wagging her tail and clicking her teeth asking for a piece of my toast, which of course she got!
Tell us a short doggy tale?
Our little Sydney Silky Terrier, Smudgie, was the centre of our attraction but when our first grand-child arrived and I minded her at my home Smudgie would wait for her to drop her dummy, grab it and run off with it and little Jassie would laugh. As you can imagine, I was constantly buying new dummies!
Jean has been offering dog boarding in her home since January 2013.
