- Stay relaxed. Your dog can pick up on your stress. Spend some quiet time with your dog to help you both de-stress.
- Try and keep your routine as normal as possible. Dogs are used to having a normal routine, so don’t stress them out just because its the holidays.
- Visitors and guests will no doubt be coming over for the holidays, and if your dog isn’t used to having this amount of people over all the time, it can be very stressful for them. Find your dog a quiet and cosy part of the house for them to relax, and make sure your guests don’t feed the dog table scraps (he should only be eating dog food) and that the dog doesn’t bolt out the door every time a new guest enters the house.
