How to help your dog get a better night’s sleep

To maintain a healthy and active dog it is important to make sure your pup is getting a good night’s sleep. Just like how humans need to have a relaxing sleeping environment so do dogs.

Here are tips to help your dog get a better night’s sleep:

Exercise. Taking a dog for a walk a few hours before bedtime can help wind down your dog. It is best to make sure to exercise your dog two or more hours before bedtime which gives the dog a chance to calm down.

Comfort. Create a special spot that the dog is comfortable to sleep at every night. To make it more comfortable for the dog, try a warm blanket for sleeping.

Create a Schedule. Make sure your dog has a chance to go outside and go to the bathroom before bedtime. Also, make sure to feed your dog dinner a couple hours before bedtime.

Setting. Help your dog by establishing a sleeping area. Creating a quiet, dark, and comfortable setting for your dog will make it easier for the dog to sleep through the night.
